A man, identified as 38-year-old Majdi Khair al-Din from Atil town in northern rural Suwayda governorate, was killed on January 3, 2025, by the explosion of a rocket, while tampering with it inside the 405th Squadron (an abandoned military outpost) near al-Majdal village in western Suwayda governorate. Two other civilians were injured in the explosion. The area is under the control of the current transitional authorities in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas.
