A man, identified as Hassan Ibrahim al-Assaf from Araba’at Saghir village to the south of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, was killed on January 4, 2025, by the explosion of a landmine of unidentified source in the vicinity of Arba’at Saghir village. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries from landmine explosions. Landmines pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives for years to come in these areas, particularly children.
