On December 28, 2024, a man, identified as Mohammad al-Thaher from Qart Weran village to the west of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, was shot and killed, while his brother was shot and injured, by unidentified gunmen from a car while the two were heading for work on the main road near Qart Weran village. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians in their areas, investigate this incident, and make the findings available to the public.
