The attack took place amid clashes between Syrian regime forces and the factions involved in the Deter Aggression Operation. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) suspects that it was either regime forces or the factions involved in the Deter Aggression Operation who were responsible for the attack. Investigations are still ongoing to accurately identify the party responsible.
