A man, identified as Khaled Aboud al-Khaldi from Tadmur city in eastern rural Homs governorate who worked as a truck driver, was shot and killed on November 23, 2024, amid clashes between unidentified groups and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel in Abu Khashab district in northwestern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate. Khaled had been abducted by the unidentified group a few hours before the clashes broke out while he was driving his truck in Sabah al-Khair district in western Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area targeted is under the control of SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not been able to determine which of the two parties is responsible for Khaled’s death. SNHR condemns what happened, and holds the controlling forces responsible for holding the perpetrators accountable.
