On November 15, 2024, three child siblings, who are displaced from Sfuhun village in southern Idlib governorate, were injured by the explosion of a war remnant of unidentified source, with one of the children sustaining severe injuries. The war remnant exploded while the children were playing in an agricultural land near their family’s house in Azmarin village in western rural Idlib governorate. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and other war remnants, calling for securing equipment to help local residents to safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
