On November 6, 2024, a man, identified as Sami al-Ali, was shot and killed while his father injured by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) patrolmen who shot the two in a raid on al-Khan village, administratively a part of al-Hawl subdistrict in eastern rural Hasaka governorate. The area is under the control of the SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the SDF has, through this act of killing, once again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
