Judge Mohammad Zidan Ayoub, head of Judicial Inspection at the Palace of Justice in al-Raie Court in northern Aleppo governorate, from Dalha village in northern rural Aleppo governorate, was shot and killed on November 3, 2024, by Syrian National Army (SNA) personnel following a verbal dispute at a checkpoint in Souran city in northern Aleppo governorate, while his brother was also injured in the incident. The area is under the control of the SNA.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the SNA has violated international human rights law through this act of killing. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
