On October 16, 2024, clashes between two Syrian National Army (SNA) factions in the rural areas of Izaz city in northern rural Aleppo governorate resulted in the death of a woman, identified as 30-year-old Israa Ismail al-Sayyed Ali, and a boy, identified as 10-year-old Khirou Abdul Salam Hassan, both from Iwijil village in western rural Aleppo governorate, while another 25 civilians were injured, in an initial estimate. The clashes also resulted in fires and heavy damages in Urm Camps, as hundreds of families fled to the agricultural lands. The area is under the control of the SNA.
