A man, identified as Yousef Hassan Mesleh al-Hazzaa from al-Suway’iya village in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate who worked as a cargo truck driver, was shot and killed on September 29, 2024, by personnel from the Syrian regime’s Fourth Division while he was in his car at a checkpoint in al-Qouriya city in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Syrian regime forces have, through this act of killing, have yet again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
