A man, identified as 27-year-old Mousab Al-Heyshan al-Shaker from al-Qouriya city in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was shot and killed by a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) sniper who was stationed in al-Tayyana village. Mousab was shot while he was swimming in the Euphrates River on al-Qouriya city’s side. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the SDF has, through this act of killing, has violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
