A man, identified as Haytham Yousef al-Eid from Ghranij city in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was killed on August 7, 2024, by a gunfire of unidentified source in his home city. This killing took place amid clashes between Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Arab tribes fighters in the city. The area is under the control of the SDF.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify the party responsible for Haytham’s death. The warring parties must take responsibility for identifying the killers.
We condemn these clashes and call for a permanent and immediate ceasefire, and for compensating the victims.
