A boy, identified as 12-year-old Jawdat Yasser Attar from Kafr Najd village in southern rural Idlib governorate, was severely wounded on July 24, 2024, by the explosion of a war remnant of as yet unidentified source in an agricultural field on the outskirts of Kourin village in southern Idlib governorate. Jawdat was transferred to a hospital for treatment. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that war remnants continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We have released numerous reports on cluster munitions and other war remnants, calling for securing equipment to help local residents to safely dispose of the various explosive remnants.
