A man, identified as Jihad Zaid Zahr al-Din who is an agricultural engineer from al-Soura al-Kabira village in northern rural Suawyda governorate in his sixties and works in the garment trade, was shot and injured on July 15, 2024, by Syrian regime forces after leaving the bank near al-Karama Square in Suwayda city. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Syrian regime forces have, through this targeting, violated once again international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
