A man, identified as 65-year-old Ahmad al-Mohammad al-Fares from Qart Weran (al-Tha’b al-Kabir/Big Wolf) village in western Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, was killed inside his home on July 17, 2024, by a stray gunfire amid clashes between Syrian National Army (SNA) personnel and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel near his home village. The area is under the control of the SDF.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to determine which side was responsible for Ahmad’s death. The controlling forces must take responsibility for holding the perpetrators accountable.
