A man, identified as Majd Gazi al-Ghazzawi from Jasim city in northern rural Daraa governorate, was killed on July 7, 2024, by a stray gunfire amid clashes between unidentified armed groups and Syrian regime forces in his home city. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Majd is a civilian who had never been involved with any military formation.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to determine which side was responsible for Majd’s death. We condemn what happened, and hold the controlling forces responsible for holding the perpetrators accountable.
