An unidentified woman, who was married to Saleh al-Madid, died on July 2, 2024, of wounds sustained three days earlier, June 29, 2024, when she was shot by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel while she was in al-Baghliya village in western rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate on the opposite side of the Euphrates River to the personnel who shot her. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the SDF has, through this act of killing, has violated again international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
