A man, identified as Abdul Razzaq al-Suleiman from al-Yalni village to the northwest of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, died on July 2, 2024, when a tunnel used for military purpose collapsed on top of him as he was digging it in Jisr Qarrah Qouzaq subdistrict to the east of Manbij city. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Abdul Razzaq is a civilian who works with the SDF in digging tunnels. SNHR notes that the SDF has, through this act of killing, violated international human rights law quite again. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
