On June 29, 2024, the body of a man, identified as 40-year-old Qasim Omar al-Saqlawi from Daraa Camp in Daraa city who works as a vegetables vendor, was found by local residents inside his car in Maysloun neighborhood in Daraa city. Qasim’s body was found after he had gone missing two days earlier. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Qasim is a civilian who had never been involved with any military formation.
SNHR has not yet been able to identify Qasim’s killers as of this writing, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying his killers.
