On June 22, 2024, the body of a man, identified as 35-year-old Saleh Hassan al-Saleh from Ber Khallou village to the east of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate who was involved in the drug trade, was found bearing knife wounds and signs of torture by local residents between the villages of Kharfan and al-Jathana to the east of Manbij city. Saleh’s body was found after he had gone missing one day earlier. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify Saleh’s killers as of this writing, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying his killers.
