A man, identified as Muhajer Mohammad al-Jaffal, was shot dead on April 25, 2024, by two I.S.I.S personnel during a shootout in Muhajer’s home village of al-Jarthi in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that I.S.I.S has once again, through this act of killing, violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
