A man, identified as 20-year-old Mohammad Sheihan, was shot dead on April 22, 2024, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel in his home city of Manbij in eastern rural Aleppo governorate amid a shootout with drug dealers. The area is under the control of the SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
