A boy, identified as Hussein Ahmad al-Subeh from al-Farat village, administratively a part of Manbij city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, born in 2008, was abducted for military conscription on April 18, 2024, by the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) al-Shabiba al-Thawriya, (Revolutionary Youth) faction, also known as the ‘Joanne Schurchkar’, after he was lured to an al-Shabiba al-Thawriya center in Manbij city. He was then taken to an SDF recruitment camp.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Hussein’s family has not been notified of what has happened to her, and he is forbidden to contact them or receive any visits from them. We are concerned that he will be forced to participate in direct and indirect military action.
It should be noted that approximately 309 children are currently conscripted in SDF military training camps.
