Two men, identified as Alaa Awad al-Mousa and Ibrahim Khalaf al-Mousa al-Aziz from al-Dbeib village in southwestern rural Hasaka governorate, were shot dead on April 6, 2024, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) servicemen at a checkpoint erected in the Jabal al-Aziz area of southwestern Hasaka governorate while they were travelling to areas under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA) in northern Hasaka governorate. The area is under the control of the SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
