Two children, young brothers identified as the sons of Jamal Mahmoud al-Labbad, were killed on April 7, 2024, in an attack by an armed group affiliated with the Syrian regime’s Military Security Intelligence service who targeted the family’s home  in al-Sanamayn city in northern Daraa governorate with bullets and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), with the resulting fire burning down the house and  three neighboring homes. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the children’s father is a member of a group affiliated with the Syrian regime’s State Security branch, which is led by another of his sons, Ahmad. It should also be noted that the attack took place during clashes between the two groups.
SNHR condemns this tragic incident and calls on the controlling forces to hold the perpetrators accountable.
