Two boys, identified as 14-year-old Mohammad Aziz Ismail al-Hamida and 13-year-old Samer Sa’doun al-K’ieran, were shot dead on March 26, 2024, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) patrolmen in a raid on al-Latwa neighborhood in Theyban town in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of the SDF.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through these killings, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
