A woman, identified as Ayyoush al-Haj Mustafa, was killed on March 6, 2024, by artillery shells fired by parties we have not yet been able to identify , who targeted civilian houses in Ayyoush’s home village of al-Sayyid Ali to the southeast of Marea city in northern rural Aleppo governorate. Another woman, identified as 25-year-old Amani al-Saleh, was injured in the attack, which also damaged a number of houses in the vicinity. The area is under the control of Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) suspects the attack was carried out by either Syrian regime forces or Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) since the attack originated from the direction of their territories. Investigations are still ongoing to accurately identify the attackers.
