On March 4, 2024, a fire, of unidentified cause, broke out in a tent in the Hourta Camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kafr Nasih village in western rural Aleppo governorate. While no casualties were recorded, the tent and its contents were moderately damaged in the blaze. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) calls on international relief organizations to meet the urgent basic needs of IDPs’ camps, and to supply the camps’ administration with additional tents for emergencies.
