Two civilian men, identified as Mustafa Ahmad al-Rajab and Mahmoud Fayez al-Rez, were shot dead on February 17, 2024, being killed in crossfire amid a shootout between two regime-affiliated groups in their home city of al-Rastan in northern rural Homs governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) condemns this tragic incident and holds the controlling forces responsible for holding the perpetrators accountable.
