A civilian man, identified as 65-year-old Ajaj al-Asmar from al-Jarthi village in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was killed on February 4, 2024, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) patrolmen who shot the victim in the head while he was driving his car along a public road in al-Jarthi al-Sharqi village. The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this act of killing, the SDF has yet again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
