On January 16, heavy rainfall caused damage in two camps in rural Aleppo governorate, with water permeating 20 tents in al-Karam Camp near Jendeires town in the rural areas of Afrin city in northwestern Aleppo governorate. Water also got into two tents in al-Zaitoun Camp to the east of Izaz city in northern Aleppo governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian National Army (SNA).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) warns that such repeated occurrences further worsen the already dire living conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs), exacerbating their existing hardships. We urge international relief organizations, including the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), to urgently respond to the camps’ basic needs, and provide the camps’ administration with additional tens for emergencies.
