A man, identified as Shokour Mahmoud al-Salbi, were shot dead on January 12, 2024, near al-Mayadeen city in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate by ISIS affiliates over accusations of working with Syrian regime forces while on his way to farm his land. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that through this killing, ISIS has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
