A 12-year-old boy, identified as Osama Abdullah Hannash, was killed on January 8, 2024, by a stray gunshot during clashes between gunmen we have not been able to identify and Syrian regime forces in his hometown of Mahajja in northern rural Daraa governorate.
The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to determine which party is responsible for Osama’s death. The controlling forces bear responsibility for identifying his killers.
