A man, identified as Mohammad Ibrahim al-Eid, was shot dead on December 10, 2023, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel while he was engaged in smuggling near the bank of the Euphrates River in al-Tayyan town in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate.
The area is under the control of the SDF. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that through this killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
