A woman, identified as Faransa Hamad al-Rouzaq, was shot dead on December 3, 2023, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Abu Hamam town in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, with a boy, identified as Ayham Yasser al-Askar, being injured in the same shooting incident. Faransa and Ayham were directly shot while riding through the town on Ayham’s motorbike.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that through this killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
