On November 23, 2023, the body of a man, identified as 28-year-old Khaled al-Nader from Waqam village in al-Laja area in Suwayda governorate, was found, bearing signs of torture and gunshot wounds all over, by local residents near Kherbt Ghazala town in eastern Daraa governorate. Khaled went missing while he was in al-Sahwa town in eastern rural Daraa governorate about four days before his body was found.
The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not been able to identify Khaled’s killers as of this writing. The controlling forces bear responsibility for identifying his killers.
