A man, identified as Omar Ahmad al-Mulla, was shot dead on November 3, 2023, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel in al-Qouriya city in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate on the bank of the Euphrates River. Omar was trying to smuggle fuel from SDF-held areas to regime areas.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that through this killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
