A 10-year-old girl, identified as Salma Mhab al-Dheis, was abducted on October 2, 2023, by gunmen we have not yet been able to identify from in front of her school in her home city in Nawa in western rural Daraa governorate. She was taken to an undisclosed location.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify the abductors as of this writing. We condemn all abductions and arbitrary arrests.
