A man, identified as Nassir Badri al-Khiri from al-Qouriya town in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was killed on September 22, 2023, by a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) sniper who shot Nassir while he was fishing in the Euphrates River in nearby Jarablos city. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that , through this and other acts of killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law, and calls for the perpetrators to be held accountable.
