A woman, identified as Ghazza Assad Khalifa, died on June 25, 2023, of wounds sustained in an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, that dropped bombs two days earlier, June 23, 2023, on her house in her home village of Deir Shmiel village in the suburbs of Misyaf in the western suburbs of Hama governorate.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) condemns all killings of civilians. We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians in their areas, to investigate this incident, and to make the findings of the investigation known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a genuine political transition process towards democracy within a fixed timetable.
