On May 28, 2023, the body of a man, identified as 36-year-old Mohammad Hosam Hussein Matar from Nawa city in the western suburbs of Daraa, was found by local residents on the road connecting the towns of Jillen and al-Mzayreeb in the western suburbs of Daraa, bearing gunshot wounds.
The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not been able to identify his killers as of this writing. The controlling forces bear responsibility for identifying Mohammad’s killers.
