A 55-year-old woman named Ayyoush Mohammad al-Azzoum, from al-Dana village in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo, was shot dead on April 16, 2023, by members of the Syrian National Army’s (SNA) Ferqat al-Hamza (the Hamza Squad), who opened fire at the car she was in, in al-Sukarryat village in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo while she was traveling to the territories controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The perpetrators must be held accountable.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the SNA has violated international human rights law through this killing.
