On March 22, 2023, the body of Hamad Juma al-Hbeish, from Abu Hamam town in eastern Deir Ez-Zour, was found by local residents in Hreiza village near al-Bseira city in the suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour bearing gunshot wounds. The city is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The Syrian Network for Human Rights has not yet been able to identify the party responsible for Hamad’s killers, with the controlling forces responsible for determining their identity.
