Photo of prison survivor Ibrahim Muslehal-Mdad, from al-Shaheil city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zourgovernorate, who was arrested on June 24, 2019, by Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) personnel, near his house in his home city, then imprisoned for four years in a detention center in an undisclosed location.
On March 16, 2023, the SDF released him, with these before and after photos showing Ibrahim’s health and physical state prior to his arrest and following his release. The photos reflect the gross medical negligence in SDF detention centers, which threatens the physical and psychological health of 4,513 detainees still imprisoned in them.
