On March 2, 2023, the bodies of four civilians bearing gunshot wounds were found in the Dwezien area of southeastern al-Salamiya city in the eastern suburbs of Hama governorate. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the victims’ families had lost contact with them a few days ago in the same area, when the victims were on their way to harvest dessert truffles.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. While SNHR has not been able to identify the party responsible for the killing as of this moment, the controlling forces bear responsibility for identifying the killers. Since the controlling forces have launched no such investigations, however, raises suspicions of their involvement in such crimes.

4 dead bodies were found on Mar 2 in Dwezien area in the eastern suburbs of Hama governorate with gunshot wounds. The victims went missing in the area a few days ago.
