On March 2, 2023, five civilians sustained burn wounds and suffered breathing problems due to a fire that broke out in the al-Salama IDP Camp near the Bab al-Salama border crossing with Turkey in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate. The blaze, whose cause is so far unidentified, completely destroyed six tents and partially destroyed four others.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights calls on international relief organizations to act urgently to meet the camp’s basic needs.

We also urge these organizations to supply the administrators of all the IDP camps in the area with additional tents for such emergencies.
