The body of 59-year-old Abdul Rahman Matar al-Jnadi, a vegetables vendor from Nawa city in the western suburbs of Daraa governorate, was found on February 19, 2023, by local residents on the road connecting Nawa city and the al-Sheikh Saed town, with gunshot wounds. Abdul Rahman had been missing for one day.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. While we, at the Syrian Network for Human Rights, have not yet been able to identify the party responsible for Abdul Rahman’s killing, the controlling forces, which bear responsibility for identifying the killer, have launched no investigation into the crime, raising suspicion of their involvement.
