The body of Mahran Hajji Izzat Ismail, a man from al-Qameshli city, was found by local residents on February 13, 2023, on the Ali Ferro Road near the city, which is located in the suburbs of Hasaka governorate. The body bore gunshot wounds to the head.
The area is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify the party responsible for Mahran’s murder, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying his killers.
