The body of Hajem Izzou al-Hassou, a 29-year-old man from Ras al-Ein city in the suburbs of Hasaka, was found by local residents on January 25, 2023, inside the pharmacy where he worked in al-Hasaka city’s al-Nashwa al-Gharbiya neighborhood with gunshot wounds to his head.

The area is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). While we, at the Syrian Network for Human Rights, have not yet been able to identify the party responsible for THajem’s’s killing, the controlling forces, which bear responsibility for identifying the killer, have launched no investigation into the crime, raising suspicion of their involvement.
