Fadi Abdul Rahman, from al-Areisha town in southern Hasaka governorate, was shot dead on December 24, 2022, by gunmen we have not been able to identify yet in al-Tareqiya village, southern suburbs of Hasaka governorate. The village is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.
We condemn all acts of killing targeting civilians. We call on the controlling parties to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians living in areas under their control, and to launch an investigation into this incident and make its details known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a true political transition process to implement democracy under a concrete timetable.
